Kick off the end of summer with inspiration from Texas-born singer-musician Stephanie Rice, who earned fame on NBC’s “The Voice.” Rice is the featured speaker and performer at this year’s free First Lecture event, sponsored by the University of Houston College of Education. Rice, a UH graduate who became estranged from her parents after she came out in high school, will share her personal story of resilience and will delight the crowd with her soulful performances.
