Learn about the stars in the night sky when Fort Bend County Libraries presents “Fort Bend Astronomy on Wheels” at the Sienna Branch Library on Thursday, November 9, beginning at 7:00 pm, in the Meeting Room of the library, located at 8411 Sienna Springs Blvd in Missouri City.
Members of the Fort Bend Astronomy Club will bring their personal telescopes and demonstrate how they are used to view stars, asteroids, meteors, meteorites, and other wonders of the night sky. They will also talk about NASA’s new frontiers and ongoing missions.
If weather permits, the program will continue outside the library, where those attending will be invited to view the night sky through telescopes and binoculars provided by the club members.
The Fort Bend Astronomy Club’s “Astronomy on Wheels” educational-outreach program has been presented at schools, scout meetings, church groups, and at other community meetings over the years.
The program is free and open to the public. For more information, call the Sienna Branch Library at 281-238-2900 or the library system’s Public Information Office at 281-633-4734.
