Houston Early Music: ‘Tous Les Matins du Monde’

Houston Early Music has teamed up with Da Camera of Houston to present internationally acclaimed composer and viola da gamba virtuoso, Jordi Savall. Joined by baroque orchestra Le Concert Des Nations, Savall will perform “Tous Les Matins du Monde,” inspired by the 1991 French film of the same name. The concert begins at 8 p.m. on Friday, March 1, 2019, at The Wortham Center’s Cullen Theater at 501 Texas Ave., 77002. A native of Barcelona, Spain, Savall studied cello at the Barcelona Conservatory of Music, later training in ancient music at Switzerland’s Schola Cantorum Basiliensis, where he continues to teach. “Tous Les Matins du Monde,” or “Every Morning in the World,” will include works by French Baroque composers Marin Marais and his mentor M. de Sainte-Colombe, as well as compositions by Jean-Baptiste Lully, François Couperin, and others.
