The program concludes at 9 p.m. Honoree: In honor of their grace and generosity, we are pleased to bestow the 2020 Laura Lee Blanton Community Spirit Award to The Garden Club of Houston. Established in 1924, The Garden Club of Houston has supported Houston area green spaces and programs that promote the knowledge and love of gardening. It is their civic leadership and continuous commitment to a wide range of charitable causes that deserve to be this year's award recipient. Featured Speaker: New York Times Bestselling Author, Elin Hilderbrand, previously scheduled for the Butterfly Luncheon, will be our featured speaker during the 2020 Spirit Award Dinner. With 25 novels to her name and one on the way, Elin inspires with the phrase, "every life contains a novel." We look forward to hearing more from the Johns Hopkins University and Iowa Writer's Workshop graduate. Chairmen: We are thrilled to have Elizabeth and Peter Wareing Chair our 22nd annual event. Elizabeth Blanton Wareing is a longtime friend of Houston Hospice and serves as President of Scurlock Foundation.
