On Saturday, October 9, take a musical journey through time as the Houston Symphony pays homage to over a century of trailblazing Black artists, from classical music to ragtime, jazz, classic rock, and beyond live at Jones Hall! Rock out to Jimi Hendrix’s “Purple Haze,” dance to Scott Joplin’s “The Entertainer” and Florence Price’s exhilarating “Juba” Dance, and much more! This program will also feature violinist Rainel Joubert performing music from Joseph Bologne’s Violin Concerto in D major. This all-ages Saturday morning concert comes with kid-friendly activities, including our popular Instrument Petting Zoo.
