** Houston Symphony presents Songs of the Earth Festival: Mahler The Songs of the Earth
From February 10 through February 12, Houston Symphony presents the beautiful songs and breathtaking vocal feats in this performance of Mahler’s The Song of the Earth, a spellbinding fusion of ancient Chinese poetry and music. Two-time Grammy Award-winning mezzo soprano Sasha Cooke and tenor Clay Hilley join Music Director Juraj Valčuha and the orchestra, and the concerts open with Qigang Chen’s dreamy Itinerary of an Illusion.
