Integrity is an internal state that guides us to moral choices, while ethics are externally imposed values regarded as promoting the common good. As mental health professionals we are charged with knowing and following the ethical codes and standards of our professions. Are ethics codes the only guides to responsible behavior? How can we cultivate our own integrity to guide us in delicate situations regarding responsibility to our clients and responsibility to the larger society? This workshop will use experiential exercises and discussion to promote integrity awareness as an adjunct to knowledge of ethical standards. [Organizer's description]
