The French Farm was founded in 1997 by Gisele Oriot, originally from Lyon, France. Gisele settled in Houston, Texas, only to realize she missed the delicious gourmet delicacies and quality kitchenware she grew up with that was, at the time, unavailable in America. Each trip home to France, Gisele started bringing olive oils, vinegars, salts, honeys, mustards, and jams back for herself and close friends. This quickly went from hobby to business, and The French Farm was born. Today, Gisele and The French Farm team still search for the best of Europe, bringing you the finest imported foods and accessories, all carefully crafted by artisanal and family owned businesses using traditional recipes and techniques. The French Farm imports products that contain only the highest quality ingredients and materials, have exquisite taste, and are packaged beautifully.
Come and join us as we open our doors to the public this spring. Stop by and enjoy complimentary wine and cheese while you shop to your heart's content for imported gourmet food and housewares from Europe. The French Farm offers a wide selection of shelf-stable food products, including olive oil, honey, jam, sweets, spreads, and more, all imported from France, Italy, Spain, and Portugal.
As an added bonus, local artist Sue Lorenz will display her art in our garden! Sue is a talented oil painter and photographer with a passion for Paris and all things French. A stroll through her garden exhibit will transport you to the City of Light!
Be further immersed in art with a look at our mural, Paris in the Heights! We jazzed up our warehouse addition (yes, more warehouse space with more imported goodies!) with a hand-painted mural by Tyler Kaye. Tyler designed and painted the impressive 70’x15’ space over the course of several months in 2018, transforming the space into a new scenic spot in the Heights.
We hope to see you there! [Organizer's description]
