Cyanotype printing, also known as sun printing, is a technique discovered in 1842 by scientist Sir John Herschel. Chemically treated surfaces like paper or fabric are exposed to sunlight causing a chemical reaction that creates fascinating silhouettes on beautiful blue backgrounds. Pre-treated papers will be available, making this craft easy and safe for children. This week’s craft is curated by Houston Center for Contemporary Craft.
