This holiday season, Houston’s most interactive science and health learning center will host the only Teddy Bear Hospital in the local region as part of its “A Beary Healthy Holiday” event. For one special morning, children of all ages are invited to join Santa Claus and his merry troop of medical volunteers – along with their favorite stuffed animals or toys – for the annual Teddy Bear Check-Up event at The Health Museum.
The Teddy Bear Check-Up will take place on Saturday, December 8, 2018, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. as part of the “A Beary Healthy Holiday” event, which is The Health Museum’s holiday fundraising initiative.
“A Beary Healthy Holiday” will feature performances of The Nutcracker by the Houston Ballet, caroling by The Salvation Army’s Harbor Light Choir, face painting and balloon-making activities, a very special visit by Santa Claus, holiday photo opportunities, and over half a dozen check-up stations designed specifically for young children to perform medical examinations on their favorite teddy bears or other stuffed toys. Breakfast will be catered by Hungry’s.
After completing a full medical examination on their plush companions, each child will earn a certificate of health for their furry friends.
The “A Beary Healthy Holiday” Chairs are Olivia Carbajal de Garcia and son Mauricio, and Roslyn Bazzelle Mitchell and son Derrick “D.” Proceeds raised will benefit The Health Museum’s yearlong education and community-focused programming in the Greater Houston region.
