Giacomo's Cibo e Vino

This casual Italian restaurant and wine bar off Lower Shepherd from longtime fixture in the Houston restaurant scene chef and owner Lynette Hawkins captures the essence of Italian city life and the spirit of the slow food movement. Giacomo's snack plates of rustic Italian food, cheap, easy-drinking wines, great espresso and top-shelf gelato are the draws. There's also a big, comfortable (and dog-friendly) patio. It’s a great place to unwind the Italian way over plates of shrimp al diavolo, gnocchi alla romana, and slow-roasted porchetta e fagioli.
