Blackout Dinner at Henderson Heights
Guests are invited to a Blackout Dinner at Henderson Heights, 908 Henderson, at 8 p.m. The Dining in the Dark experience will challenge the senses of taste, smell, touch and sounds in total darkness, offering a three-course set menu with two cocktail pairings in a fun casual atmosphere. Tickets are $49 per person.

Fall Menu Testing at Bistro Provence
Bistro Provence, 13616 Memorial, will be testing a culinary fall sampler of new dishes, inspired by Genevieve Guy’s most recent trip back to her home country of France. Starting Monday, August 20 and continuing through Saturday, August 25, diners can get a first look at potential Autumn menu items with daily blackboard specials, offered at both lunch and dinner every day, from tartine aux noisette et fromage de chèvre (hazelnut and goat cheese tartine) and ventreche et St Jacques au balsamic (Pork belly and seared scallops with a balsamic reduction) to agneau à l’Avignonnaise (lamb stew).

BOH Pasta Kitchen Takeover at Prohibition
Ben McPherson’s new Bravery Chef Hall pasta concept, BOH Pasta, will be taking over the kitchen
at Prohibition, 1008 Prairie, on Tuesday, August 21. Guests can get a menu preview with three antipasti, three pastas and a pizza al taglio. The kitchen opens at 4 p.m. and there will also be happy hour specials provided by Prohibitions bar staff.
Outdoor Cooking Series: Revival Reunion at Eight Row Flint
Eight Row Flint, 1039 Yale, continues its Outdoor Cooking Series in August with a Revival Reunion. Each week, a former staff member of Revival Market will return to cook on the patio, with this week featuring Matt Wommack, current sous chef at Nobie’s. Wommack will be serving up ancho prawns with tajin-spiced grilled melon salad. Food will be available from 5 to 8 p.m. (or until sold out).
Summer Whites Wine Tasting at Third Coast Restaurant
Third Coast Restaurant, 6550 Bertner, Sixth Floor, continues its wine tasting series from 6 to 7:30 p.m., with an event focused on white wines to beat the summer heat. Sommelier David Cook will lead guests in a tasting of several wines and discuss common qualities expressed by “summer whites” and chef Jon Buchanan will prepare small bites to accompany the wines. Tickets are $55 and can be purchased in advance online at Eventbrite.
Domaine Rouge Bleu Wine Dinner at Bistro Provence
At 7 p.m., Bistro Provence, 13616 Memorial, will host a special dinner with French Country Wines, featuring the wines of Domaine Rouge Bleu. The dinner will feature four wines paired with a four-course French Provence menu, including dishes such as cod brandade, lamb daube and chocolate mousse. Grand Opening at Whole Foods Market 365 Houston
Houston is getting its first 365 by Whole Foods Market with its new location at 101 North Loop West. The grand opening celebration will kick off with coffee, snacks, and swag; and the first 100 people in line will receive a Whole Foods Market 365 gift card. The store opens for business at 9 a.m.

Downtown Hotel-Only Bar Crawl
Four Downtown hotel bars are teaming up for a deluxe hotel-only pub crawl, complete with luxury transportation and a drink and light bites at each stop and running from 6 to 10 p.m. The crawlers will go to The Whitehall’s Part & Parcel, 1700 Smith, JW Marriott’s Main Kitchen and 806 Lounge, 806 South Main, Hotel Alessandra’s Bardot Bar, 1070 Dallas, and Bayou & Bottle at The Four Seasons, 1300 Lamar. Bourbon Benefit Dinner at Truluck’s Houston
Guests are invited Bourbon Benefit Dinner at Truluck’s Houston, 5350 Westheimer, beginning with a “Meet the Maker” cocktail hour at 6 p.m. and followed by the dinner from 7 to 10 p.m. A collaboration between Truluck’s and Garrison Brothers Distillery, the event raises funds to help preserve Balmorhea State Park and its iconic spring-fed pool, offering an exclusive four-course dinner and award-winning small-batch bourbon pairing. Tickets are $200 per person. A second event will be held at Truluck’s Woodlands, 1900 Hughes Landing, on Friday, September 14.

Wine & Food Fest at Navigation Esplanade
The seventh annual Wine & Food Fest (formerly known as the Pearland Wine & Food Festival) will take place at Navigation Esplanade, 2600 Navigation, on Saturday, August 25 from noon to 8 p.m. This HTX Edition will celebrate Houston’s diversity, culture and heritage, offering tastings from boutique Texas wineries and food by regional chefs, plus unique and select wine-related artists, crafts vendors, live music and entertainment and other attractions. Tickets are $40 and include entry, a wine souvenir glass, wine tote, and ten tasting tickets, with VIP tickets for $55 and more wine tickets available for purchase at the event.
Liberation de Paris Party at Brasserie du Parc
Brasserie du Parc, 1440 Lamar, will be hosting a Liberation de Paris Party (the celebration of Paris’ liberation from Nazi Germany in 1944) from 5:30 to 9 p.m. Guests can walk through a tasting gallery of French wine and spirits, listen to live music, and enjoy bites of French fare. There is no admission charge to attend.
