The Morning After Brunch Event at Bayou City Event Center
Saturday, 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

Get unlimited brunch and booze samples at our annual bottomless brunch event, The Morning After. The epic afternoon will feature brunch bites from more than 25 Houston-area restaurants, including favorites from Max’s Wine Dive and Bosscat Kitchen & Libations to Snooze and Peña’s Donuts & Diner, plus cocktail and beer sampling and boozy juice and bubbly bars. Tickets are $40 in advance ($50 day of) for general admission and $65 in advance ($75 day of) for VIP.

Cacao & Friends Farmer’s Market and Grand Opening at Cacao & Cardamom River Oaks
Saturday, noon to 4 p.m.

Cacao & Cardamom is celebrating the grand opening of its Montrose/River Oaks location, bringing chocolate to life with a boutique farmer’s market. Taste, shop and splurge with local businesses including Xocolla Chocolate, Java Pura Coffee Roasters, Houston Dairymaids, Nice Winery, HIVE Bee Farm, Yellow Rose Distillery and The Bread Man Baking Company (all of which were used to make the new chocolate flavors in the HOUSTON collection). Owner and chocolatier Annie Rupani is also introducing a new chocolate – the Mango Lassi, inspired by the classic Indian drink with 100 percent of the proceeds benefiting the Rupani Foundation to promote early child development and education in impoverished communities in Houston. The chocolate will be available for one year.

TacoWorld at Guadalupe Plaza Park

The team behind the Tamale Festival Houston are bringing you TacoWorld, a family-friendly taco festival held at Guadalupe Plaza Park. Guests can expect DJs, pop-up shows, cooking demos, a best taco competition, and plenty of Mexican eats. General admission tickets are $10 pre-sale ($15 at the gate) and $95 for VIP, including a free taco buffet from 2 to 5 p.m., non-alcoholic beverages, and access to the Dollar Bill Bar featuring boozy beverages for just a buck. Value passes are $29 pre-sale and include event admission, a TacoWorld koozie, and four drink tickets valid for margaritas, beer or soda (not available day of).
 

Southern Smoke outside Blacksmith and The Hay Merchant

The annual Southern Smoke Festival and MS Society fundraiser returns, and it’s expected to be better than ever. Ten visiting chefs hailing from all over the country will join to represent some of the best restaurants and barbecue in the nation, including Aaron Franklin, Daniela Soto-Innes, and local stars like Chris Shepherd and the HOUBBQ Collective. Launched in 2015 to support the MS Society in honor of Shepherd’s friend and former sommelier Antonio Gianola, the Southern Smoke Foundation has expanded to include a year-round emergency assistance fund for people in the food and beverage industry, inspired by the success of last year’s Hurricane Harvey relief efforts. Tickets are $200 for general admission and $350 VIP (includes early entrance and VIP lounges).

Breakfast for Dinner at Wooster’s Garden

Chefs Brandon Silva and Andrew Musico will be serving up breakfast for dinner this Sunday. "Brinner" fans can expect egg sammies with beef cheeks, egg cake and chili honey on an English muffin; ham and eggs with thick-cut mortadella, fried egg, melted cheese, and black vinegar maple syrup, savory crab bread pudding with smoked bacon and warm potato vichyssoise, and more. Items will be sold a la carte.
