Are You an Arts & Culture Editor?

UPDATE: We have filled the position. Check back later this month for our announcement. Are you cultured, web-savvy, thoughtful and fast?

Our Arts & Culture Editor Troy Schulze is leaving us to pursue a few endeavors (and make a little art himself in the process). And while he'll continue to contribute for us, the Houston Press has an opening for a full-time Arts & Culture Editor to write and edit blog posts about the arts in Houston. Candidates should be familiar with a range of the arts, both high and low-brow, including visual and performing arts, music, film, comedy and pop culture. The position requires the ability to write clean, energetic copy fast enough to post multiple times per day. The Arts & Culture Editor will also assign, edit and post the work of freelance writers and photographers and staffers and be comfortable setting and adhering to deadlines. This editor will work closely with the Night & Day Editor.

Preference will be given to candidates with deep knowledge of the Houston arts scene and familiarity with social media and SEO. The job is full-time with benefits.
