Attention Artists: Saint Arnold Wants to Pay You $1,000

Calling all artists, designers, car lovers, and beer enthusiasts: Saint Arnold Brewing Company is adding a brand-spanking new Mini Cooper Countryman to their arsenal and they're holding a contest to decide how to decorate it.

While they're not sure exactly what they're looking for, one thing is for sure - it needs to be a head turner. "If anyone has seen our 1957 tie-dyed Bentley or our tie-dyed Beetle then you probably already know that we don't have much use for a boring ol' plain auto," said Saint Arnold's Lennie Ambrose, adding, "We need something that'll be worth people pulling up next to in traffic and taking a picture of. And we need your help to make that happen."

In addition to receiving $1,000, the winner of the "Saint Arnold Mini Art Car Design Competition" will be invited to help decorate or paint the car and ride along with their design in the 2011 Houston Art Car Parade. Entries will be judged by the following criteria: 1) Basic aesthetic appeal, 2) how well the design fits in with the Saint Arnold mentality and promotes the brewery, and 3) practicality. Keep in mind that the car is intended for daily driving (and they need to wash it), so artwork must be able to withstand the elements and survive the open road. They've even provided a side-view design template to get you started. Hood, roof, and back decoration should also be included in your submission. The car being delivered is completely white - essentially, a blank canvas.

All entries must be submitted to [email protected] (if digital) or directly to the brewery by next Wednesday, March 23.
