The 10 Best Christmas Specials You Can Still Watch Right Now Online

If it's not the holiday music blaring above every cash register in the city that gets you into the Christmas spirit, then maybe it's the cavalcade of television programming that puts your holiday mood at volume 10.

When we heard that Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer was a Google trending topic earlier this month, it was obvious the appetite for 50-year-old holiday programming doesn't fade.

So, we decided to dig around the bowels of the internet to find some other Christmas classics your holiday shouldn't be without.

10. A Christmas Carol (1971)

Beloved animator Chuck Jones produced this take on the Scrooge story. While it's lavishly animated with some extremely artistic touches, the holiday's most famous ghost story does get a bit creepy in parts.

9. The Year Without Santa Claus (1974)

In theory, this is about as depressing a Christmas movie special as you can get. What happens when Santa throws in the towel because kids don't believe any more? Mrs. Claus steps up to the plate.

8. Frosty the Snowman (1969)

For this vintage classic about a pile of snow come to life, the famed Rankin/Bass stop-motion masters left the puppets alone and went with straight animation. It's a tear-jerker near the end.

7. Frosty's Winter Wonderland (1976)

Let's be honest, the Frosty the Snowman story ends one a downer, and this sequel of sorts extends the holiday dream of a snowman come to life. The animation in this is a little freaky looking though.

6. Yogi's First Christmas (1980)

Here's an unforgettable gem you rarely see during the holiday. It's a Christmas adventure that pits Yuletide haters against Yogi Bear and his crew.

5. Tom and Jerry The Night Before Christmas (1941)

There's a lot of Christmas symbolism packed into this short. This cat vs. mouse story is too timeless to pass up for the holidays.

4. The Smurfs Christmas Special (1982)

It should come as no surprise that the hottest Christmas specials were made by the Hannah-Barbera company. Watch Gargamel try to shut down the holiday fun, and lose miserably at the hands of Papa Smurf his blue gang.
