The city's gearing up for the 2009 Food and Wine Week in The Woodlands at the end of May, but there's still plenty to do in the meantime.

Saint Arnold Twitter Crawl:  If you aren't on Twitter, you're missing out on secret deals and offers that local places only offer to their followers.  Today brings a Twitter pub crawls from microbrewery Saint Arnold offers on the microblogging service that starts at Front Porch Pub tonight at 6 p.m.  Further crawling instructions will be issued upon arrival...

Great Taste of the Heights: The Heights has become the city's newest culinary hotbed, so take advantage of this Saturday's annual festival to try food from the neighborhood's best restaurants.  A $25 ticket to the street festival held on 10th Street from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. will get you food from upscale eateries like Rainbow Lodge and Bedford, as well as classic fixtures Carter & Cooley and Spanish Flowers (not to mention beer, wine and margaritas).

The Cleverley Show:  The popular Saturday-afternoon radio show on 650 AM features interviews with the city's chefs.  Host Cleverley Stone will be doing a live taping tomorrow afternoon at 11:30 a.m. at Fleming's Steakhouse (the new Town & Country location) and listeners are invited to join her for the show, which will have door prizes, a wine seminar from sommelier Laura Gilliam and a three-course lunch (including wine) for $30.  Reservations can be made by calling 713-827-1120.

Todai Half-Price Wine Night:  Mondays in May are half-price wine night at Todai, the mad 10,000 square foot jumble of all-you-can-eat sushi bar and churrascuria in the Marq*E Center off Katy Freeway and Loop 610.  Any bottle is 50 percent off on Monday nights and oenophiles can also take the opportunity to check out the fancy new Enomatic wine system (which is also in place at Rattan Bistro on Eldridge).

Game Night at TTRThe Tasting Room at Midtown holds game night each Tuesday night, offernig your favorite childhood board games like Scrabble and Monopoly and a selection of over 100 bottles of wine.  Grab a bottle (which start at $15) and some friends and settle in for a vicious game of Uno.

Cultured Cocktails:  Join Spacetaker at Beaver's Ice House every Thursday from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. to support a local non-profit arts organization each time you raise your glass.  Beaver's donates a portion of all drink sales each Thursday, with the proceeds on May 21 going to benefit American Institute of Architecture (AIA) Houston Archetypes.
