Smashburger, a
Denver-based burger chain offering “fast casual” dining, is coming to Houston just in time for Christmas.
Picked as best local chain by our sister paper Westword in Denver. At the time the paper wrote, "The Denver-born idea of ‘fast-casual’ dining is applied to the Denver-born idea of the cheeseburger, and the result is a culinary mash-up of a Chipotle-style business model, a sleek, modern diner and a burgers-at-the-bar vibe.”
Expect to see its mobile version, the Smashmobile, hitting the streets in late December. Expectations are that there will be 20 to 30 franchises in Houston. – Margaret Downing
