Houston, We Have a New Ramen Restaurant

Rumors that the Austin's Ramen Tatsu-Ya was soon coming to Houston have been spreading in the last few months. And we may be finally able to confirm that there is definitely truth to the rumors as an inside industry source states Ramen Tatsu-ya chefs/owners Tatsu Aikawa and Takuya "Tako" Matsumoto have been negotiating a lease for their first Houston location at 11138 Westheimer at Wilcrest. Google the address and you'll find it was formerly travel agency Japan Budget Travel -- completely apropos as Ramen Tatsu-Ya has been garnering praise from every corner for their authentic ramen, since they opened in a modest strip center in Austin in September of 2012.

A trip to Ramen Tatsu-Ya guarantees you'll wait in line but the lines move quickly and the pay off is ten fold as you hunker down to a bowl of ramen where the broth took 60 hours to perfect.

With the arrival of Ramen Tatsu-Ya to Houston the ramen craze that has quickly taken over Austin will begin to infect Houstonians already craving more ramen.

Oh, but there's more, the source tips us that they also looked at a location near Lucky's pub near the BBVA Compass Stadium where the Dynamo play. Could we be so lucky as to have two locations so not only will we not have to travel outside of Houston but not even outside of the loop? Only time will tell.
