Welcome back to Turning the Screw, Rocks Off's weekly rap post. It probably won't rhyme, at least most of the time. E-mail tips to [email protected]. Thanks, homies.
Single of the Week
"I'm Bout My Paper," Hollywood F.L.O.S.S.
Wire To Wire
LL Cool J, talking to the Associated Press, actually referred to 50 Cent as "inspiring." That's weird. We probably would've gone with something else. "Arsonist" springs to mind. (LL opens for Janet Jackson at Toyota Center next month.)
HIs last few movies might've been for shit, but admit it, you're looking forward to this.
Man, U.S. Sens. Patrick Leahy and Arlen Specter are suuuchhh dicks. Shouldn't the government be worried about, oh, we don't know, everything else?
See video of The Kanye's new single here.
Lil' Wayne refused to hand his bag over to security at Fashion Rocks in New York, ultimately ending with him not performing and a bunch of people pissed off. Those dumbasses should've just let him in without searching him. We mean, seriously, what could've possibly been in that bag that would have brought harm to anyone?
We don't know about you, but if we got some face time with Young Jeezy, we'd certainly ask him about, um, boiled peanuts.
Remember arguing with your parents when you were younger about your taste in music? How at one point they'd inevitably say something like, "Rap is going to ruin your life!" and you'd just be all, "Whatever, ma," and then adjust your Cross Colours jeans and walk off all cool? Turns out your parents were right.
As reported here previously, Australia wasn't too keen on letting Snoop Dogg Down Under. And who should come to the Doggfather's aid but Ozzie favorite son Russell Crowe? How bad-ass are you when the actual Gladiator co-signs for you?
Beyonce prepping her new album. We know local news usually cuts to the front of the line, but c'mon, who seriously feels like she's still from Houston?
New MF Doom album coming! What are the chances of Doom sending someone else into the studio to record it for him?
Can someone please get Keith Murray a reality show?
Honestly, we have no idea to make of this.
