A.R.E. Weapons

Melding industrial beats, synth wash, drunken rants and trash-punk ethics, NYC's A.R.E. Weapons flog a drug-crazed, sex-addled rotten apple image that would do the Lou Reed of "Walk on the Wild Side" yore proud. Vocalist Brain McPeek leads the intentionally derelict musical attack with his spoken/sung sermons validating the street whores and spazzes among us ("Don't Be Scared") and expresses concern about that old rap staple of babies having babies on "Hey World." It all sounds like it might play better live, or even if it doesn't, the spectacle should be amusing enough.
