Bubble Wrap Wonderweek

It's doubtful that when the brainiacs behind Bubble Wrap were inventing air-lined plastic sheeting, they knew the enormous joy the packing material would one day bring to children everywhere. But then again, maybe they did - even brainiacs can't resist the satisfying pop, pop, pop of crushing those tiny air bubbles. Officially, January 26 is Bubble Wrap Appreciation Day, but the Children's Museum of Houston is celebrating a little longer with Bubble Wrap Wonderweek. The fun includes making Bubble Wrap viewers (a.k.a. kaleidoscopes), Bubble Wrap prints (art using the plastic packing wrap as a stencil) and pop music (popping Bubble Wrap to the beat of music). 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday, 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, and noon to 6 p.m. Sunday. 1500 Binz.
