East End X-Mas is the Orange Show's pre-hibernation celebration. "We close for three months every year, and so this is sort of our last hurrah," says spokesman Stephen Bridges. "It's the season-closing party." But before setting the alarm clock for March, the local performance/art venue throws an enticing holiday celebration. "Free food, free drinks. We have tamales, we have hot toddies that we make and there's plenty of Saint Arnold's beer," Bridges says. And best of all, you can bring the kids. "It's really a family event; it's sort of like a hip family event," he says. There's also music courtesy of local high school ensemble Mariachi MECA, ornament-making workshops and an Orange Show-themed scavenger hunt. (Attendees are asked to bring a toy donation for East End kids in need.) 7 to 10 p.m. 2402 Munger. For information, call 713-926-6368 or visit www.orangeshow.org. Free.
