Kids and Christmas 21st Annual Holiday Pops Concert

Calling all Grinches. We've got the antidote for your sour Christmas soul. The Houston Children's Chorus will sing away your seasonal blues with their Kids and Christmas 21st Annual Holiday Pops Concert. According to Founder and Director Stephen Roddy, the show will feature "a small orchestra and choreography." The kids will do both sacred and popular carols. But don't think this is just a bunch of ordinary rug rats - these kids performed at the 2004 Super Bowl. "We have 120 children onstage, and the orchestra is Houston Grand Opera musicians. The concert is extremely polished." So whether you have a hankering for "All I Want for Christmas is My Two Front Teeth" or something more serious such as "Angels We Have Heard on High" or "Silent Night," the Houston Children's Chorus has you covered. 5 p.m. Rice University, 6100 Main. For information, call 713 650-3800 or visit www.houstonchildren.org. $15 to $20.
Sat., Dec. 19, 5 p.m., 2009
