It's a time-honored right of passage: Turn 21, get 'faced and do things your friends will rib you about until you hit retirement age. We know a certain alternative weekly that's reaching that magic number, and readers are invited to celebrate at Barely Legal: Best of Houston 2009 Party. The shindig will also honor local winners in the annual BOH issue, which spotlights the city's finest businesses, dishes, drinks, people and more. The party includes a performance from '80s cover band Molly & the Ringwalds, food sampling and keg beer, while it lasts. Games will include all your coming-of-age favorites, like beer pong, flip-cup, casino "gambling" and the ol' shot wheel. And don't forget the go-go dancers. Come celebrate as the Press kicks off what should be, in Frank Sinatra's words about the big 2-1, "a very good year." 7 p.m. Lucky's Pub, 801 Saint Emanuel. For tickets and information, visit www.houstonpress.com. $10 to $15.
