Its been almost half a century since the superest super nanny of them all taught us that a spoonful of sugar helps the medicine go down. Mary Poppins, that magical lady with the best bag of tricks ever, first appeared in books by P.L. Travers in the early 1930s before getting really famous in the 1964 Disney musical film. Of course, shes got her own Broadway show now (who doesnt) complete with tunes like Chim Chim Cher-ee and Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious. The touring company, making a stop in Houston, features the Broadway shows original stars Ashley Brown as Mary and Gavin Lee as Bert, her chimney sweep pal. Learn that troubles are never so bad when you can look at them from a little higher up when Mary Poppins flies high at 8 p.m. Tuesdays through Fridays, 2 and 8 p.m. Saturdays, and 1 and 6:30 p.m. Sundays.
