10 x 10

If you love the idea of attending stage plays but have a serious problem paying attention to anything over ten minutes long (blame the blasted Internet!), Scriptwriters/Houston has just the evening for you: The 19th installment of 10 x 10, ten ten-minute plays by local authors presented by the actors of the Country Playhouse Theatre. The plays include John Kaiser's Target, a comedic thriller about a man who gets accosted in a parking lot, and Carl William's comedy Unleashed, about a romance that grows out of a pet-related citation. There's also Cuteness by Leighza Walker, about an adult couple learning how to baby-talk, and Upstairs Dirty Bomb, by Eric James, in which a trio jokes about the terrorists that live upstairs. That's crime, romance, sex and terrorism - just in case you weren't paying attention. 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday, 5 p.m. Sunday. 12802 Queensbury Lane. For information, call 281-496-4438 or visit www.countryplayhouse.org. $15.
Fri., Aug. 14, 8 p.m.; Sat., Aug. 15, 8 p.m.; Sun., Aug. 16, 5 p.m., 2009
