Can't tell the difference between a Picasso and a pork chop? Maybe you've tried to get into today's art scene, but you can't tell what anything means (it's got to mean something, right?). Fear no more: The Museum of Fine Arts, Houston has put together a crack team of experts to walk you through it all in How to Look at Contemporary Art, Part 1. They'll explain the difference between modern and contemporary art (yes, there is a difference), discuss roadblocks to enjoying art and give you hints as to what to look for when you're standing in front of a painting or sculpture. Using the museum's galleries as classrooms, you'll practice approaching and interpreting art for your own enjoyment, without worrying what the critics think. You might not like anything any better, but at least you'll know why you don't like it. 7 p.m. 1001 Bissonnet. For information, call 713-639-7500 or visit www.mfah.org. Free.
