Lights in the Heights

The holiday season might not automatically bring up images of boom boxes, but that will change after you hear “Unsilent Night” at this year’s Lights in the Heights parade. Phil Kline’s ambient composition, which is performed by Musiqa members and volunteers, is just one of the treats you’ll enjoy during the Christmas celebration. City Councilman Adrian Garcia is this year’s parade’s grand marshal (hey, isn’t he the new sheriff?). After that, there’s live entertainment planned and lots of twinkling lights decorating the neighborhood’s historic homes. If you want to be part of Musiqa’s “Unsilent Night,” dust off your boom box and call 713-524-5678. For everyone else, the fun starts at 6 p.m. Bayland and Woodland.
