The 1986 film Stand by Me is based on Stephen Kings novella The Body, which chronicles the summer quest of four 12-year-old boys (played in the film by Wil Wheaton, River Phoenix, Corey Feldman and Jerry OConnell) who find the corpse of a boy their age. Just like mythical heroes, the quartet must overcome a few obstacles bullies, junkyard dogs and, who can forget, the leeches before completing their journey.
