A Common Martyr

Running in repertory with Eye of the Storm: Tales from Hurricane Ike, is A Common Martyr. ''It's about a group of people who just graduated college and who are going camping to celebrate,'' Christine Weems, of Cone Man Running Productions, tells us. ''They drink and they say some very real things, like what happens to us now? It calls into question relationships, friendships as well as romantic relationships. It has a lot of heart, it has a lot of humor to it as well.'' Weems notes that Keshia Lovewell, an up-and-coming director in her early twenties, gave the play a period setting. ''She told me that they were doing it as a period piece. 'Oh, when is it set?' I asked her. '1995.''' Ouch.
