Via press materials, Flyte says Sarah’s character has changed a bit in the new novel. “In the sequel she is fighting to save the life of someone she loves, so she’s more focused. The challenges she faces are personal, and she’s questioning herself a lot more: what she believes, what she wants.”
As with Dreams, the location plays a large role in the story. In Magic, Vienna — the city of Beethoven, Mozart and Freud — proves to be a labyrinth of secrets and lies. Up against a powerful enemy, Sarah is forced to explore an ancient mystery in order to protect the people she loves. Both Howrey and Lynch will be on hand for the reading-and-signing session.
