Ali Siddiq

After 15 years of honing his craft on the road, Ali Siddiq is returning to his old stomping grounds with a one-night stand at the Houston Improv on February 27. Before Siddiq shared the stage with some of the country’s funniest touring comedians (Kevin Hart, D.L. Hughley, Katt Williams, Dave Chappelle and Cedric the Entertainer, to name a few), he got his start as a stand-up in federal prison. He spent six years as a guest of the state beginning when he was 19. Prison, he’s said, prepared him for a career as a comedian. It seems prisoners make a tough audience. Since his release, Siddiq has yet to stop working on his craft. His television credits include four seasons of BET’s Comic View, HBO’s Def Comedy Jam and Showtime’s Chocolate Sundaes, among countless others.
