While the subject matter of “Life: Survivor Portraits” may be a bit dark, the true meaning behind this series by Kelly Lee Webeck is celebration. The portrait series celebrates Holocaust Museum Houston’s 18th year, as well as the lives of Holocaust survivors. It’s a unique look inside the lives each survivor has created, and features 36 gelatin silver prints that are meant to give an interactive feel to the exhibit. The exhibit should invoke dialogue, not only inner dialogue but in the community, as the peek inside the lives of Holocaust victims should provide perspective on the bigger picture.
