The Contemporary Arts Museum Houston celebrates Houston’s vibrant creative community with “Right Here, Right Now: Houston,” solo installations by local artists Debra Barrera, Nathaniel Donnett and Carrie Marie Schneider. Barrera’s Avalon explores movement, travel and escape routes using “Avalon” as a mythic location. Donnett’s Nothing to See Hear investigates the intersection of sound and light to create a space of remembrance and meditation. Schneider’s Incommensurate Mapping presents architectural models of CAMH, each showing a variety of conceptual, social, archival, structural and imagined possibilities for the museum. This is the first solo museum exhibition for these artists, each of whom worked closely with a specific curator, respectively CAMH Director Bill Arning, Senior Curator Valerie Cassel Oliver and Curator Dean Daderko.
