Flashdance The Musical

The 1983 movie Flashdance was a smash hit; the Broadway show Flashdance — the Musical brings the film’s exhilarating dancing and music score to the stage. Like the film, the stage production centers on Alex Owens, a young and beautiful woman who spends her days working as a welder in a Pittsburgh steel mill and her nights as a dancer in a strip club. She wants to leave all that behind and audition for a ballet company. Surrounding Alex is a group of talented strippers, nightclub regulars (of both the nice and the not so nice kind) and one very handsome steel-mill foreman. The show’s music score includes several of the film’s hit songs including “Flashdance…What a Feeling,” “Maniac” and “I Love Rock and Roll.”
