Some rappers happen to be thoughtful, intelligent people. Each week, Rocks Off will have some of them here discussing issues relevant to their culture.
This Week's Panel: Zavey, hasHBrown, Scooby, Medicine Girl, Nicki Minaj, Renzo, Rob Gullatte, more.
Not Invited: Hologram Tupac
This Week's Prompt: Here's something we've never really considered: Who is the greatest female rapper of all-time?
Doughbeezy: Nicki Minaj.
Scooby: I don't be on the girl rap, but without a doubt, Nicki Minaj. But Da' Brat hard too.
Renzo: Shawnaa, with Da' Brat on her heels.
Rob Gullatte: If we're talking strictly music, I need to think, but overall impact the greatest female rapper of all-time is Queen Latifah.
hasHBrown: 1. Lauryn Hill. 2. Jean Grae. 3. Rah Digga.
Chuckway: Candi Redd is the best female rapper.
Kyle Hubbard: Easy, Jean Grae. Listen to "A-Alikes" and you'll realize there isn't much of a discussion.
Preemo: Lauryn Hill.
Chane: I pay homage to Queen Latifah, MC Lyte and Lauryn Hill but I gotta go with the queen bee, Lil' Kim, as the greatest rapper of all-time. She took the female rap game to a whole another level.
Eskabel: MC Lyte.
Medicine Girl: Lil' Kim.
Nasty: To answer your question, Tyga is the greatest female MC ever.
#Thurogod: MC Lyte or Eve.
Mac: Da' Brat was hard; hard rhymes, funky beats. MC Lyte was too. Da' Brat had more hits.
YS: Lauryn Hill, hands down.
D-Risha: Damn, I'm gonna say MC Lyte because she was truly a female MC in the traditional sense and she paved the way for Jean Grae, Rah Digga and others.
Zavey: Lauryn Hill.
