Rap Feud Turns Deadly in Southwest Houston

A young man killed in the parking lot of a southwest Houston McDonald's the night of May 4 was an up-and-coming Alief-area rapper, and police believe he was killed by a former bandmate who left to start a rival group.

According to a criminal complaint filed in Harris County District Court, Toyurean Young, who rapped under the name T.O.Y., was shot in the arm and left side of his torso and later died at Ben Taub Hospital.

Young was a member of the trio FDAB (Fly Den a Bitch). On Facebook, the group claims SWAT (South West Alief Texas) under "hometown" and lists "Music Money Trojans Smoke More Smoke Yaaaaaaaap" under "Band Interests."

In the complaint, R.B. Olive of the HPD's Homicide Division says several witnesses, including an anonymous phone call to the victim's mother, have identified the shooter as Jordan Wilson. A Houston Fire Department paramedic who treated Young on the way to the hospital told Olive that Young identified a "Jordan" (no last name) as his attacker.

Olive's report says one witness at the scene told him Young had been shot because Wilson was jealous of FDAB's increasing popularity, and that Wilson had been a member before leaving to join another local rap group, KREAM (Kash Rules Everything Around Me).

Olive was able to locate Wilson on the Internet dancing in a KREAM video, he adds, and that Young and Wilson had been feuding on Twitter for several weeks.

Wilson is currently at large. Anyone with knowledge of his whereabouts is asked to call HPD Homicide Division at 713-308-3600 or Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS.
