Beyonce, Dad No Longer Client, Manager

Beyonce has severed business ties with her father and longtime manager since the days of Destiny's Child, Mathew Knowles, according to a press release from Houston-based Music World Entertainment.

"The decision for Beyonce and Music World Entertainment to part was mutual," Mathew Knowles, Music World CEO, said in a statement released late Monday by PR Newswire. "We did great things together, and I know that she will continue to conquer new territories in music and entertainment."

Knowles said he will focus on Music World's emerging gospel/inspirational arm, which includes performers such as Trin-i-tee 5:7, Brian Courtney Wilson, Juanita Bynum, Micah Stampley and Vanessa Bell Armstrong. He was named to the board of directors of the Gospel Music Association earlier this year.

Beyonce, meanwhile, will go right on being Beyonce. According to Rocks Off's daily Google alert, this includes appearing with a number of other single-name superstars (Eminem, Rihanna, Pink, Sting) on the Songs for Japan fundraiser CD, promoting her new Heat Rush fragrance, and shouting out Audrey Hepburn, Cher and Diana Ross as her fashion/style inspirations.

The singer is also reported to be working on a new album - her first since 2008's I Am... Sasha Fierce - with a number of collaborators, including Frank Ocean of SXSW sensations Odd Future.
