Pegstar's New Venue Now Has a Name: White Oak Music Hall

Overnight, Houston's Pegstar Concerts released the name and logo of its music venue in progress at  N. Main on the Near North Side. Dubbed the White Oak Music Hall, it is scheduled to be completed in early 2016. According to a press release, the venue take up a five-acre plot and feature a small indoor venue, a larger two-story indoor hall with a balcony and tiered seating designed for both sitting and standing views, and an outdoor space dubbed "The Lawn."

"We designed the interior spaces to be intimate and full of energy — broad proportions, a low mezzanine, and exposed wooden elements," says Troy Schaum, professor of architecture at Rice University and the project's primary architect. "For the Lawn, we created an entirely new experience, with a roof deck and elevated balconies providing sweeping views of performances on the Lawn.”

Pegstar is hosting a "launch party" for the site at 6 p.m. next Thursday, where they will show architects' renderings of the site and answer questions about the new venue. RSVP here.

Nice, huh?
