Houston Restaurant Weeks
Starting Saturday

Houston Restaurant Weeks is back! Beginning this Saturday and running through Monday, September 7, enjoy multi-course meals at over 200 of Houston’s hottest restaurants for a good cause. A portion of every meal price will be donated to the Houston Food Bank, which in turn provides much-needed relief for families suffering from hunger. AUGUST ForTheLoveOfFoodTrucks FESTIVAL @ Hughes Hangar
Saturday, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Head to the patio bar and speakeasy for a food truck pop up event, featuring live music, patio and indoor drinks, and around 15-20 food trucks parked throughout the front and back parking lots. RSVP in advance for free or pay $5 at the door. Tickets include entrance only; Food and drink must be purchased separately.

White Linen Night @ The Heights
Saturday, 6 p.m. to 10 p.m.

Time to break out those white linen pants! This annual Heights block party lasts from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. but the revelry runs well into the night. Stroll the streets of the beautiful historic Heights to get delicious bites and drinks and browse pop up shops from local businesses. Boomtown Coffee, 242 W. 19th, will have live music, eats from Flip 'n Patties food truck, and java, of course. Onion Creek, 3106 White Oak, will be hosting a Big Bad Ass Parking Lot Party. And Good Dog Houston, 903 Studewood , will have food trucks, music, and more. But that’s just a taste of fun.

Swine & Wine Cooking Competition @ Haak Vineyards
Saturday, 7 p.m. to 10 p.m.
6310 Avenue T

Head to the Santa Fe vineyard to watch as four of Houston's top chefs—Chef Danny Trace of Brennans, Chef Greg Lowry of Pour Society, Chef Lyle Bento of Southern Goods, and Chef Richard Kaplan of Weights + Measures—compete to produce the best pork and wine dishes. Each culinary mastermind will be producing four small bites with wine pairings for guests to try. There will also be live music and a butchering demo of a whole hog, which will be auctioned off live at the event. Proceeds from the Auction sales benefit local culinary arts programs. Tickets can be purchased in advance for $50 per person (or $45 for wine members on a max of 2 tickets).

Make Cocktails Not War @ Stone’s Throw

This craft cocktail competition, dedicated to the era of LOVE, features master mixologists from Spare Key, Weights + Measures, Triniti and Stone’s Throw, to name a few. Listen to vinyl jams and enjoy $5 drink specials as you watch the show.
