Michael Flatley's Lord of the Dance: Dangerous Games Coming to Houston For One Night

In 1998, Michael Flatley beat his own Guinness World Record when he tapped 35 taps per second.

Now he's on his way back to Houston for a one-night performance in what he says is his last tour with Lord of the Dance: Dangerous Games. “My body has taken a severe beating over the last 20 years.” He says he feels like he’s dancing at a high level now, but “I don’t think I’d be at that level in another two years.”

So the world-famous dancer/choreographer who revitalized and built on Irish dancing by incorporating some upper-body movement into his routines says he’ll be dancing in two, but not all of the numbers.

“My whole dream was to make dance a center act. It wouldn’t be just people in the background,” Flatley says. He’s already started working on a book which entails him going back through 20 years of notes and photos – many of the pictures never made public before, he says.

The show includes new numbers, costumes and special effects. But as Flatley makes clear: “The meat of the show is those big dance numbers. That hasn't changed.”
