From St. Patty's Day shenanigans to a Persian New Year celebration, here’s a look at this weekend's best culinary happenings:

St. Patrick’s Day Festival at Lucky's Pub Downtown
Friday, doors open at 6 a.m.

Start the revelry early with Lucky Charms and breakfast tacos at Lucky's Pub Downtown, as the streets around it close off for a huge all-day festival featuring green beer, leprechauns, bagpipers and more green beer. The Rod Ryan show will broadcast live from 6 to 10 a.m., the bar opens at 7 a.m. and 94.5 The Buzz will also be broadcasting live and there will be a lineup of bands all day. There is no cover before noon with general admission. Advanced passes are available starting at $10, with VIP ticket options available. The other locations, 2520 Houston (Heights), 27126 Northwest Freeway (Cypress), will host festivities as well.

Midtown’s Biggest Saint Patty’s Day at Irish Cowboy, 3rd Floor and Pub Fiction
Friday through Sunday, 11 a.m. to 2 a.m.
Irish Cowboy: 2300 Louisiana; 3rd Floor/Pub Fiction: 2303 Smith

This Midtown triple threat will be hosting its annual St. Patty’s Day bash all weekend long. Party goers can expect green beer, over 45,000 square feet of party space, DJs, live music, pub grub and crawfish all weekend long. Tickets are $20 and include access to all three venues all three days.

4th Annual Celebr8tion of Beer at 8th Wonder Brewery
Saturday, 2 to 10 p.m.
2202 Dallas

Celebrate four years with 8th Wonder at this all day, rain or shine fiesta. Tickets are $35 in advance ($45 day of) and include four beer tokens, a limited edition pint glass and access to the main lot, food trucks and live entertainment. VIP tickets available for $125 in advance ($150 day of) and include an open bar, limited edition pint glass, light bites, an Eatsie Boy’s pig roast, and access to the main party, VIP areas and an extended beer list.

Eureka Heights Hootenanny at Eureka Heights Brew Co
Sunday, doors open at noon

Dust off your cowboy boots as Eureka goes all out for the “Hootenist of nannys.” Guests can expect a chili cookoff (2 p.m.), roping contest, country music from Vinyl Ranch and a lineup of super special brews, including Cotton Tail (a cream ale with cotton candy) and Mooreo Caliente (milk stout with fried Oreos). Tickets are $25 and include chili tastings, a pint glass and three beers.

Persian Dinner at Roost
Sunday and Monday, 7:30 p.m.

In honor of the Persian New Year, known as Nowruz, chef Kevin Naderi will be hosting two family-style dinners, with 50 seats on Sunday and 20 seats on Monday. Feast on traditional dishes including dolmeh felfel (bell peppers stuffed with orzo and golden raisins, herbs, caramelized onion and pimento peppers, then stewed in light tomato sauce), ash reshteh (traditional herb and egg noodle soup with garlic, onion and mint served with a dollop of fermented yogurt), ghormeh sabzi (rich green stew with chopped herbs, kidney beans, and braised lamb) and kooloocheh (dessert bread filled with cinnamon, sugar and almonds), all served family-style. Cost is $80 per person, inclusive of tax and gratuity.
