The upbeat Latin American spot will be offering buffet brunches on both Saturday and Sunday during Mother’s Day weekend. Dive into a tapestry of Américas classics, including chicken and beef empanadas, plantain-crusted fritto misto, ceviche and paella, plus brunch stations featuring made-to-order omelettes and crepes, whole-roasted pig and beef tenderloin. The dessert spread is equally as indulgent, with favorites including tequila bread pudding, tres leches and the Delirio de Chocolate cake. As an added bonus, all moms who dine will receive a $20 gift certificate good for future use (Churrascos will be offering the same deal, with brunch times and prices varying by locations).

Make sure to save room for five courses, because that’s what you’ll get at this petite piece of France, set right in Midtown. The menu features plenty of indulgences, starting with a truffle potato croquette and caviar amuse-bouche and ending with a strawberry mousse and hand-rolled truffles dessert. In between, there’s seafood quenelle (a creamy seafood puree, almost like a light dumpling) in lobster sauce; mushroom and goat cheese ravioli; pan-seared scallop with crab-and-spinach-stuffed chicken; and lamb loin with red wine parmesan risotto. The restaurant will be closed for dinner.

The lush gardens and Buffalo Bayou make a picturesque setting for a lovely Mother’s Day brunch. Sip $6 mimosas or $8 Bloodys alongside choice starters, including New Orleans-style beignets, fluffy cinnamon rolls and cognac-kissed lobster bisque. Then sip your cocktails some more and move on to the main event, from Portobello mushroom omelettes and crab cake Benedict to chipotle shrimp and grits and chicken-fried filet and eggs. Afterward, stick around for the last of Brenner’s live music series, Bands on the Bayou, which jazzes up the patio deck from 3 to 6 p.m.

The Houstonian Hotel offers an array of Mother’s Day brunch options. In the Grande Ballroom, guests can enjoy an extravagant brunch buffet featuring complimentary champagne and mimosas, plus selections such as smoked prime rib, lobster with gnocchi, eggs Benedict, blueberry brioche French toast and chocolate soufflé cake.
The elegant and historic Manor House Restaurant offers a multi-course feast with a southern Creole touch. Options include traditional turtle soup, pecan-crusted trout with crab succotash, pork grillades with stone-ground grits and redeye gravy, prime rib with Yukon steak fries and hazelnut chocolate brownie crisp.
Olivette’s seated Mother’s Day brunch is à la carte, with choices including a fruit plate with blood orange yogurt and a blueberry smoothie; chicken-fried duck and waffle with red chile honey and bourbon butter; and an Oscar-style Angus filet with jumbo lump crap, charred asparagus and Béarnaise. Save room for desserts, from crème brûlée with berries to Swiss meringue and rum milk tres leches.

These neighborhood cafés offer more than just Mother’s Day brunch. Now through Mother’s Day, Hungry’s will be giving away weekly treats in its #HungrysTopMom Mother’s Day Giveaway. Locals can nominate moms, and a random winner will be selected each week leading up to the big day, with prizes including a night out at NextDoor Bar & Lounge, 14714 Memorial; a $100 gift card to Lily Rain, 2414 University, 1407 South Voss; and the grand prize package, featuring a 100-minute aromatherapy massage at Trellis Spa at The Houstonian Hotel, 111 North Post Oak. As for the eats, Hungry’s brunch offers everything from organic kale and quinoa eggs Benedict to drool-worthy plates including crispy chicken and eggs smothered in an Anaheim chile cream sauce. Tack on infused Bloody Marys for you and chocolate chip mini waffles for the kids.
And at Upstairs bar and lounge (set on the second-floor terrace above the Hungry's in Rice Village), the atmosphere is geared toward adults. The 21-and-up-only crowd can enjoy the same extensive menu as Hungry's, with brunch burgers, chicken and waffles, croissant French toast, and drinks including mimosa flights and frozen bellinis.

For a five-course French affair that is as elegant as it is delicious. A carpaccio of scallops makes for an impressive starter before you move on to hazelnut-flavored lobster risotto. For the third course, choose between filet mignon with Cognac flambé or Chilean sea bass in Champagne sauce. Next, it’s a mille-feuille of brie with honeycomb and fig chutney, and to end, a decadent Valrhona chocolate dessert. A special children's menu is available upon request and the menu will also be offered from 5 to 9 p.m.

Just in time for Mother’s Day, this buzzed-about neighborhood eatery is introducing its brand-new brunch menu. Hit the quaint spot and dine on dishes everyone can get down with, including colossal cinnamon rolls served in cast-iron skillets, housemade pastries, avocado toast, poached eggs and cheesy grits and the magic that is the “Freakin’ Weekend Tower,” a shareable bagel tower with all the proper schmears and accoutrements. Tack on some brunch punch to make the day extra special.

Get a taste of the South at this elegant charmer, where a special Mother’s Day brunch menu mixes old favorites with new creations. Treat mom to dishes including delicate seafood crepes, cornmeal pancakes with warm maple syrup, Gulf shrimp and grits and a classic chicken-fried steak with the works. Guests can also expect an extensive dessert tray to choose from. For some added ambience, the restaurant’s in-house florist, Oui Petals & Events, can arrange a small bouquet of wildflowers ($20) to adorn the table and then be taken home. And for families who prefer to sleep in, the Mother’s Day menu (minus the breakfast items) will also be offered alongside the dinner menu until 10 p.m.

Both locations of this enchilada empire will be celebrating Mother’s Day with an expanded brunch and a rose for every mom. Hit the buffet to dine on made-to-order pancakes, huevos rancheros, chilaquiles and omelettes, plus street tacos, salads, rice and beans, special enchiladas and desserts. A limited à la carte menu will also be available during brunch, with dinner specials and the full regular menu offered after 3 p.m. And if you’re looking for a gift, both locations will be offering signed copies of The Enchilada Queen Cookbook for 20 percent off the purchase price, a special that’s available on Mother’s Day only.

With long hours, an in-house cocktail bar and bake shop, and a fantastic menu with both morning and afternoon delights, Weights + Measures is ideal for a special-occasion brunch. Sip on a fiery, citrus-spiked Bloody Mary or the Lava Caliente, a tequila and mezcal drink kissed with lemon-lime, honey, spices and bubbles; and start with some cardamom-sugar-dusted “doughknots” for the table. Brunch plates are so good, you won’t want to share, from the house-smoked salmon toast with dill mascarpone and truffle egg scramble to the wood-grilled cheeseburger. Something you will want to share? The surprisingly awesome roasted-carrot pizza. A kids menu is also available, offering chocolate pancakes, eggs and toast and French toast.
