A quartet of players from Galveston Symphony Orchestra, including Maestro Trond Saeverud, will play selections evoking the Bryan Museum’s world-class collection.
Saeverud selected “Pioneering Classics“ as the subject and title for this concert since “Much like Texas and her wide open spaces, it gives lots of room, flexibility for both pioneering imagery – and for classical music in a broader sense.”
Music will be drawn from crucial periods of Texas history with a few vintage Hollywood themes. Each piece will be accompanied by a brief description of its Texas connection by the Maestro himself!
Musicians include Saeverud and Christina LeBlanc on violin, Tom Strauch on viola, and Naldo Posella on cello. [Organizer's description]
