Learn to meditate in three guided sessions on Feb 13
This special one-day retreat is designed to help you relax, renew, and revitalize your life. You will learn beneficial responses to daily stresses, relax your mind, meet like-minded friends, and experience a profound sense of inner peace. The retreat will consist of guided meditations and short informative teachings about how to remain calm, clear & concentrated. All sessions will be guided by American Buddhist Monk – Gen Kelsang Wangpo. Discover the power of simple meditation practices and return home refreshed and inspired! You can join this retreat at any time that fits your schedule. The three sessions will be available for one week after the original broadcast. For people with a special interest in learning to meditate, we have developed a special meditation program. This retreat is part of the special meditation program that we have at KMC Houston. The program is designed to help people improve and enjoy meditation practice. As part of this program we are offering four unique online urban meditation retreats. The retreats are approximately every six weeks (September 19, October 31, December 27, and February 13). The retreats coincide with the conclusion of each of the four unique series of meditation classes that we hold on Thursday nights. You can drop in for any Thursday Meditation Class. These classes are structured as a set of brief series of topics. Attending the whole series will let you understand an aspect of meditation. The subjects include: Introduction to Buddhist Meditation (Aug 13 – Sept 17), Foundations of a Strong Meditation Practice (Sept 24 – Oct 29), Meditation and Mindfulness (Nov 5 – Dec 17), & How to Practice Buddhist Meditation (Jan 7 – Feb 11). Check our online calendar for more information about these classes. There is no attendance requirement. You do not need to attend the classes in order. You can join the classes and retreats as you like. The structure was prepared to allow people to enjoy meditation and to improve their practice, while still allowing people to join at any time. The class series and retreats will be repeated again in the fall. This means everyone who has the wish can attend all 24 classes and develop a strong understanding of meditation and have the benefit of guided meditation.
