8th Wonder Brewery

Named after the Houston Astrodome, which was designated the “Eighth Wonder of The World” after it opened in 1965 as the first climate-controlled domed stadium, 8th Wonder Brewery in East Downtown makes popular batches of beer, including their Dome Faux’m Throwback Cream Ale and Witty Blonde IntellectuAle, among other flavors. 8th Wonder opens up their tap room Thursdays through Sundays for the public to stop by and sample their various beers; they also sell their beer at many popular bars and eating establishments throughout Houston. (Check their Web site for all of the locations.) 8th Wonder hosts several special events at the brewery throughout the year, like their annual Celebr8ion block party in March featuring live music from popular local bands, food trucks, and of course, beer.
