Bistro Menil

David Rozycki
Located steps away from the Menil Collection, the museum that houses the impressive and valuable private art collection of founders John and Dominique de Menil, this newly opened bistro is a casual place with an approachable, reasonably priced menu. There are actually four different menus here, depending on when you visit: a weekend brunch menu, lunch and dinner menu, afternoon menu, and an extensive dessert menu. A wide variety of European-inspired but American fare is available, including salads, pizza, duck rillettes, eggplant “fries,” french toast, three-egg omelets, pear upside-down cake, white chocolate custard and much more. Also here is an impressive collection of draft beer, many from local breweries, as well as a cask wine program that is a more sustainable, green alternative because it reduces shipping and packaging costs; wine is kept in stainless steel containers with nitrogen to help preserve it.
