Masa Sushi

Most of the menu at Clear Lake's Masa Sushi is designed to appeal to mainstream tastes. But chef Michael ShiXin Zhou deserves a lot of credit for bringing innovative "new-style sashimi" items to serious sushi fans in the NASA neighborhood. True to its moniker, which means graceful and elegant, Masa’s gracefully fuses traditional Japanese elements with American touches to come up unexpected hits like the Texas jalapeño yellowtail, a lightly-seared sashimi dish with yuzu citrus and a jalapeño crunch; and the “Japan nacho,” a take on nachos made with crispy wontons and cream cheese that will have diners digging in for more.
