Old Town Harrisburg is located in the heart of the East End’s historic district. This multi-use entertainment facility offers family friendly events, an indoor and outdoor art market, and the Frida’s Refresca bar, serving authentic Mexican refreshments and snacks. It’s mission is to preserve the history of the street of Harrisburg and display it’s Mexican influence by hosting weekend art fairs with lively music and ballet folklorico performances. The recent development of Metro’s light rail in front of the venue has made it a convenient stop from Downtown. It also houses a recreation of the Callejon del Beso (Alley of the Kiss), inspired from the one in Guanajuato, Mexico, similar to Romeo and Juliet, where two young lovers who were forbidden to see each other due to the wealth status of one would meet on an alley to share a kiss.
